When you call about ductwork, you are likely dealing with rooms that never feel comfortable, high energy bills, or dust that keeps coming back no matter how often you clean. Your duct system is the network that carries conditioned air from your HVAC unit to each room, and when it is leaky, crushed, or undersized, the system has to run longer and harder to compensate.

We start by running a pressure test or using a smoke pencil to find leaks and disconnections. We seal every gap with mastic paste or UL-181-rated metal tape, never standard duct tape. We reattach separated sections with sheet metal screws and foil tape, then wrap ducts in unconditioned spaces with R-6 or R-8 insulation. Finally, we test airflow at the registers to confirm the fix.

The biggest cost factors are accessibility and the extent of the damage. Ducts in a tight attic or a low crawl space take longer to reach and repair. A system with crushed flex duct or collapsed metal runs may need sections replaced, which adds material and labor. The age of the ductwork and whether it was originally sized correctly also affect the scope of work.

On the day of the job, our crew sets up drop cloths and shoe covers to protect your floors and furniture. We work in the attic, crawl space, or basement and clean up all debris, old tape, and insulation scraps before we leave. You do not need to move furniture or clear the attic; just make sure the area around the indoor unit is accessible.
